Coach

Are you an amazing mountain biker?  Or even just a casual rider?  Do you enjoy sharing your passions with others?  Do you like working with kids and watching them succeed?  If so, you would make an excellent coach at Escape Adventures.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct a group of 5 children aged 5 to 13 in a safe and effective manner
  • Create a positive and welcoming environment for all children, families and employees
  • Ensure the safety of all kids under your supervision
  • Follow all processes and procedures set out in the coaching handbook
  • Ensure kids are riding appropriate terrain for their abilities

Requirements:

  • Must have completed grade 10 by June 2023
  • Must have a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate (or higher) issued by either St John Ambulance, the Red Cross, or the Lifesaving Society – to be obtained by your first shift
  • Must be double vaccinated against COVID
  • Must be comfortable riding the trails of the Seymour Demonstration Forest (these range from gravel trails to those with more roots and rocks)
  • Must own a well maintained bike, tools (allen keys, chainbreaker, pump etc) and a cell phone
  • Must be willing to work at least 6 of the 10 weeks throughout summer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMBI Level 1 or above
  • CSIA/CASI/NCCP certification
  • Other relevant certifications
  • Coaching/Instructing experience (ie ski instructor, hockey coach etc)
  • Experience working with kids (ie babysitting)
  • The ability to work during spring break and after school

  • Pay ranging from $16.75 to $21 (+ 4% vacation pay) depending on experience and qualifications

Lead Coach

Responsibilities:

A Lead Coach is responsible for everything a Coach is, as well as:

  • Leading a group of 3-5 coaches
  • Ensuring groups get sorted appropriately and efficiently on the first day of each program
  • Assisting less experienced coaches when needed
  • Responding to injuries when necessary

Requirements:

In addition to meeting all the requirements of a Coach, Lead Coaches must:

  • Have previous experience in a leadership type role OR
  • Have a proven track record of success at Escape

Social Media Coordinator

Do you like making TikToks? Are you creative? Do you keep up with the latest social media trends?  Are you good with a camera?  If so, this position may be perfect for you.  We are looking for someone who is able to take photos/videos and edit them to a high standard which will then be used in our marketing materials.

Note: This is a part time position which will be done in conjunction with other coaching duties (roughly 25% social media and 75% coaching)

Responsibilities:

  • Developing engaging content for social media platforms
  • Pitching ideas for social media posts to management and following through with the concept
  • Photographing and filming kids learning, riding trails and having fun
  • Editing photos and videos into post-able content
  • Creating graphics when/if necessary

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to use photo and video editing software
  • Experience editing and producing high quality content
  • Experience in sport photography/videography
