Spoke Sisters – Spring Weekends

Spoke Sisters…female riders and female coaches.

These riders must have a skill set which allows them to comfortably ride Bobsled, Roadside Attraction and King of The Shore.

Spoke Sisters is for riders that would like to enhance their mountain biking skills, confidence and level of comfort with the sport.  Once this is achieved, these female riders have built their courage, expanded their community and are ready to crush the trails of The Shore.

All riders will be assessed on day 1 and placed into appropriate skill groups.

Spoke Sisters, an opportunity to hang out with like minded females.

    Information

    Requirements

If your child does not have the skills to be able to ride the terrain for their camp, we will try to fit them into another camp.

If we are not able to place them into an appropriate camp, we will not be able to refund your registration fee.

Let’s have a chat and find a solution that will work well for us both.

A 24″wheel or larger is mandatory.  Plus they must have a solid skill level to ride Bobsled and Upper Griffen.  This includes riding uphill to Bobsled, a number of times, during the course of the day.

These riders will need to have already acquired the following bike and riding skills:

    • Quick release(manual lever) needed for riders’ seat – mandatory
    • full face helmet – strongly recommended
    • knee & elbow pads – strongly recommended
    • ability to use gears and brakes
    • the use of level pedals
    • have an understanding that different body positions are used for descent and ascent
    • realize that a rider needs to go up, before they have the joy associated with going down
    What to Bring
    • The Obvious: Bike and Full Face Helmet and knee & elbow pads
    • The Not So Obvious: Water, lunch (no nuts), spare tube (mandatory), all in a backpack, to be carried by the rider.
    Expectations
Can my child always ride with their friend?

We make every effort to keep friends together, but it cannot be guaranteed.

Our groups are created to ensure each rider is kept engaged and in their challenge zone. This creates a cohesive group and a better experience for all the riders.

The groups are defined by the skills of all the children attending that week.

    BIKE TUNE UP MANDATORY

Please ensure that your child’s bike is tuned up and ready to roll a few weeks prior to coming to camp.  Bike stores are very busy so phone and make an appointment for the tune up.

Having your child’s bike in good operational condition will create a positive experience for your child.
