Explore the Shore

Explore The Shore takes your adventurer on a variety of classic North Shore activities.  Not only will we explore the world famous mountain bike trails of The Shore, but we will also experience the Mountain Ropes Course on Grouse Mountain, kayak in Deep Cove, the Forest Quest program in Lynn Canyon with the Ecology Center and the BC AdventureSmart, Hug a Tree and Survive program.

On Day 1, riders will be divided into groups based on skill.  At Coaches’ discretion, the more advanced skill groups will have the opportunity to ride trails on Fromme, such as Bobsled, Roadside Attraction, Upper Griffen and King of The Shore.  Parents will be notified the day prior if their child’s group will be riding Fromme.

Mountain Ropes Adventure on Grouse Mountain

Four aerial ropes courses with varying degrees of difficulty. Balance, jump, climb, swing and zip your way to the finish!

Both Minimum Age and Height needed to participate.

Minimum Age:  8 years on the day of the course

Minimum Height:  122cm ;  4’0″

Monday: Field time to sort riders into appropriate skill groups and off to the trails

Tuesday:  To the Demo Forest trails to ride, make shelters, learn about knots and the BC AdventureSmart, Hug A Tree and Survive program.

Wednesday:  Mountain Ropes Adventure at Grouse Mountain

Thursday: Kayaking with Deep Cove Kayaking

Friday:  Ecology Center Forest Quest program and trail riding





8 -13+ yrs.

If my child is the required age for the camp, later in the year, can they still be registered?


As long as your child is the required age within the calendar year, you can register them for the camp.

The weeks of

9:30am to 3:30pm


5 days – $595 +GST
* Full refunds will be issued if camps are cancelled due to COVID-19 regulations.*


  • 24” wheeled bike or larger
  • Riders must be able to ride independently, confidently and in control along gravel paths with small obstacles and be able to go up and down hills, ride distances and for the whole day
  • Both Minimum Age and Height needed to participate in the Grouse Mountain Ropes Course
    • Minimum Age:  8 years on the day of the course
    • Minimum Height:  122cm ;  4’0″

Escape Adventures is unable to give refunds if your child doesn’t meet these requirements

What to Bring
  • The Obvious: Bike and Helmet
  • The Not So Obvious: Water, lunch (no nuts), spare tube (mandatory), all in a backpack, to be carried by the rider

**On Wednesday**  – No Bike –     Mountain Ropes Adventure

  • Closed-toe shoes are required
  • Comfortable, athletic clothing
  • Elastic or bobby-pins to tie back long hair
  • sunscreen and hat- really important!

**On Thursday** – No Bike – Deep Cove Kayaking

  • Please bring sunscreen, hat
  • Towel as you may get damp while paddling
  • There is No Swimming

Your rider will be shredding in all weather, please dress accordingly

Upper Lynn Elementary:  1540 Coleman St, North Vancouver

Grouse Mountain:  6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver; next to Starbucks.

Deep Cove: 2156 Banbury Rd, North Vancouver

Fromme:  Go to the very top of Mountain Hwy.  Pass through the yellow gate and follow the road to the divide and proceed down the hill into the parking lot. Escape Coaches will be in the North end of the parking lot.

¹ Some groups may go to Fromme on Friday.  This is at the discretion of the coach based on the group’s abilities.  You will be informed the day prior.
