Explore the Shore

Explore The Shore takes your adventurer on a variety of classic North Shore activities.  Not only will we explore the world famous mountain bike trails of The Shore, but we will also experience the Mountain Ropes Course on Grouse Mountain, Forest Quest program in Lynn Canyon with the Ecology Center, bouldering at The Hive Climbing Gym and BC AdventureSmart survival skills.  Come Explore with us!!

Mountain Ropes Adventure on Grouse Mountain

Four aerial ropes courses with varying degrees of difficulty. Balance, jump, climb, swing and zip your way to the finish!

Both Minimum Age and Height needed to participate.

Minimum Age:  8 years on the day of the course

Minimum Height:  122cm ;  4’0″



8 -13+ yrs. 1:6

Monday: Field time to sort riders into appropriate skill groups and off to the trails

Tuesday:  To the Demo Forest trails and then make their way to The Hive Bouldering Gym

Wednesday:  Mountain Ropes Adventure at Grouse Mountain

Thursday:  Ride to The Ecology Center for the Forest Quest program, discuss BC AdventureSmart survival skills

Friday:  Ride through the Demo Forest to Circuit 8 to participate in the NSMBA guided Trail Day and additional riding on the trails


Riders will have the opportunity to give back to their trails by spending time involved in trail maintenance through the NSMBA Youth Stewardship Program.  In 2019 our riders gave 500+ hours of time working on the trails.  The NSMBA (North Shore Mountain Biking Association) provides excellent instruction and guidance.

5 days – $480 +GST


  • 20” wheeled bike or larger
  • Riders must be able to ride independently, confidently and in control along gravel paths with small obstacles and be able to go up and down hills, ride distances and for the whole day
  • Both Minimum Age and Height needed to participate.
    • Minimum Age:  8 years on the day of the course
    • Minimum Height:  122cm ;  4’0″

What to Bring

The obvious: Bike and Helmet.

The not so obvious: A spare tube, snack, lunch (no nuts please) and water, in a back pack.

**On Wednesday**  – No Bike-      Mountain Ropes Adventure

              • Closed-toe shoes are required
              • Comfortable, athletic clothing
              • Elastic or bobby-pins to tie back long hair
              • sunscreen and hat- really important!!
